The Communications department does the following:
- Represents the district at certain community meetings and events
- Produces the Excelsior, the district newspaper that is published monthly, except for July
- Produces and distributes the tri-fold district calendar
- Acts as primary media contact
- Issues news releases
- Announces school closings on the district website and to local TV and radio stations
- Oversees flier-distribution process
- Provides district-information packets to new and prospective families
- Helps coordinate special events
- Creates and places advertisements
- Updates and distributes staff and building directories
- Assists staff in posting to the district website
